High on Ngongotahā Maunga live the Patupaiarehe, a mysterious people of the mist. Curious explorer Ihenga climbs the mountain, meets them, and is given water by a young woman. When he fears he is in danger, Ihenga uses quick thinking to escape and safely return to his wife by the lake. This puzzle brings an important pūrākau of Te Arawa to life, connecting tamariki to culture, place, and storytelling.
This puzzle is brought to life through a single-sided image tray puzzle in A4 size (310 mm × 220 mm). Available in 4-piece, 9-piece, and 12-piece, and 18-piece options, it supports early learning, problem-solving, and fine motor development while connecting tamariki to Māori storytelling in a meaningful, hands-on way.
