Tae Eke Educational Resources
Māui used his magical jawbone to fish up a giant fish from the ocean. That giant fish became Te Ika-a-Māui, the North Island of Aotearoa. When Māui’s brothers did not listen and cut the fish too soon, the land became rough and bumpy, forming mountains, valleys, and rivers.
