Rubbing boards encourage children to place paper over carved surfaces and use crayons or pencils to reveal kōwhaiwhai, koru, and other meaningful patterns, turning movement into art and curiosity into understanding. Each piece becomes more than a learning aid — it becomes a taonga rākau, a special keepsake that can hold the wairua of a centre, whānau, or kaupapa.
